"Rozinante" was designed by L. Francis Herreshoff in 1956.

The original's specifications are:

Sail area: 2056 square inches
Displacement: 85 pounds including 65 pounds ballast.
Sails: Mylar
Spars and booms: Carbon fibre
Hull: Red Cedar-epoxy-fiberglass
Deck: Yellow cedar
Cabin: Mahogany, cedar, ash, cherry
Fittings: Hand made by Murray, except turnbuckles and blocks.
Sails: Bob Sterne
Finish: Brushed marine varnish and paint
Radio controls: Fully functional
